Gretchen Stempf

Growing up, Gretchen trained under Michele Goodrich out of Simsbury, Connecticut at Well-A-Way Farms. She showed in the Equitation as a Child and Junior and had much success; winning Junior Medal Reserve Champion at Connecticut Finals, end-of-the-year  Junior Equitation Champion multiple years in a row, and qualified for New England Finals and Maclay Regionals every year, to name a few.  After graduating from Colorado College, she worked as the Colts Unlimited Assistant Trainer for five years for Charlie and Hilary Carrel In Sheridan, Wyoming. Under Charlie’s tutelage, Gretchen has learned how to establish a solid foundation on a young horse just getting started, and also remedy behavioral issues that an older one might be having.  She has had much experience with a  multitude of horse personalities during her time at Colts Unlimited, ranging from cow horses to Grand Prix jumpers.

After Colts Unlimited, Gretchen worked as the Assistant Trainer at Savoy Stables in Littleton, CO under Brianna Davis. In addition to riding client horses, she gained teaching experience by coaching the beginners in the school program up through the competitive hunter and jumper clients.

Phillip Flynn

Phillip started riding in Pennsylvania as a child and began showing hunter jumpers after moving to Texas. In Middle School, Phillip moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado where he continued to compete in local CHJA shows through High School. After graduation he attended the University of Findlay earning a degree in Equine Studies and Business Management. In the subsequent years he groomed and rode for several trainers on the East Coast where he was exposed to the world of high level jumpers. In 2014 he started working for South Lane Farm where he found his now long-time partner Polar Ice. After a brief return to Colorado to train and develop Ice with Sean Brevard, Phillip made the move to Wyoming to work as the Assistant Trainer at Colts Unlimited. During his time working for the Carrel's, he gained a wealth of experience in developing all levels of horses and began to compete in the Grand Prix with "Ice". Since then, he has qualified for two consecutive $100k Init2WinIt Finals in Omaha, NE., and is consistently competing in the Grand Prix. In the Spring of 2019, Phillip moved down to the Denver area to start Tailored Equine Training LLC with Gretchen.
